Why Montañas Sagradas

You are not booking a generic tour.  You are joining mountain professionals.

Local expertise

We live in Mancos, at the foot of Huascarán. Our guides grew up in these valleys and read the mountain's weather and snow as locals, not visitors.  We provide 24/7 assistance during your trip in English or French.

Decades in the range

Son of Pedro Méndez — Peru's first mountain guide — Walter Méndez has been leading treks and expeditions in the Cordillera Blanca and Huayhuash for more than 35 years.

Mountain safety

Conservative acclimatisation, radio and satellite communication, oxygen, a first-aid kit and an emergency horse on high routes, with clear decisions about when to turn back. A portable hyperbaric chamber can be added as an option.

Personalised adventures

Small groups and private departures. Your itinerary is planned around your fitness, your dates and the treks and summits you actually want.

Our legacy

Long before Montañas Sagradas, there was a mountain story

In the Cordillera Blanca, our story began generations ago, with people who knew these mountains not as a destination, but as part of their lives. Their knowledge, courage and connection to the Andes continue to inspire the way we welcome travelers today. We don't simply guide you through these mountains. We share the heritage that connects us to them.

Travel with us and you walk with the family these mountains taught.
